Sarah Al-Hajj
Sarah Al-Hajj is 19 years old and studies English Literature and Psychology at the University of St. Andrews. Despite having always loved reading stories, Sarah developed an interest for songwriting and music composition at a young age, and went on to be awarded the COBIS Young Composer of the Year in 2023. This hobby evolved into writing poetry, where she felt her ideas could be explored in more depth.. Her first serious poem, “The Colour of Passion,” was written as part of a spoken-word poetry competition in 2021 and marked the beginning of her ambition to write and publish. Her debut pamphlet, Wonky Fingers, was published in February 2024 and is made up of 21 poems about healing, heartbreak, nature and chocolate.
