Luke Shuffield

Luke Shuffield is an emerging writer of poetry, creative nonfiction, and fiction. His individual works have appeared in La Piccioletta Barca, Lucky Jefferson, Product Magazine, and Hobart. His debut poetry chapbook, Ephemera, was published in print in 2025. He currently lives in Texas with the two loves of his life: his wife, Eileen, and daughter, Florence.

Luke’s short fiction is born from an immense respect for the greats of the format’s tradition (e.g. Chekhov, Kafka, and Borges), as well as a fascination with contemporary masters of the unusual type, like Ted Chiang and Ken Liu. He holds no delusions of grandeur, but he does strive to produce work that pays homage to these and others. He hopes this reverence translates to a sincere attempt at developing a distinctive voice that will carry him forward into a prolific and impactful literary future.
