Dustin Hyman

Dustin Hyman, despite being quite dyslexic / neurodivergent, earned a PhD in English with an emphasis in creative writing from the University of Louisiana in 2018. Now, he teaches composition and creative writing at Texas Tech University—Costa Rica campus. Hyman’s story “Church of Pit” won the Chicago Tribune’s 2018 Nelson Algren Award and appears in his debut collection, Gutter Punks, published in 2024 by The Gateway Review.
