Honey Rand

Honey Rand lives in Tampa Bay on Florida’s Gulf Coast. For more than 25 years, she’s been president of the Environmental PR Group (which focuses on projects, products, and policies that create environmental sustainability and economic vitality). She studied media communication at Fitchburg University in Massachusetts, where she was the Distinguished Graduate in 2010. She received a Master’s Degree from the University of Washington and a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida.

Honey has been writing since she could hold a pencil. This is evidenced in the story “The Bear,” scribbled on a scrap of paper. There is other evidence as well. Most published pieces deal with water and environmental issues. A few years ago, Honey started to write more personally (memoir, analysis, and even a little humor). She is the author of Water Wars: A Story of People, Politics and Power and is at work on a book called PhosFate (about phosphate strip mining).
