It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the departure of Indigo Moor as our Poetry Editor. We can’t thank him enough for his time as a part of our team, and we wish him the best of luck in the future. Of course, that means that we’re looking for someone just as capable to take over the mantle (especially since our open reading period begins on May 1st and we anticipate hundreds of submissions per month)! While it’s still an unpaid position, we like to think that it’s worth the time and effort from an altruistic, career, and creative standpoint, as you’d be a part of a highly respected (yet still growing) journal whose team and followers are dedicated, passionate, and friendly. In other words, we have a great community here, and you’d love for you to be a part of it!
Responsibilities will include:
* A relatively quick turnout during reading periods (say, voting within four weeks of each submission arrival).
* Regularly checking journal-related correspondences (email, Facebook group, Facebook messages, etc.)
* Voting on all of the year’s submissions for inclusion in our annual ‘Best of’ print anthologies between
November and December (so you’ll have plenty of time to look over them).
* Participation in and passion for new ideas to expand and enhance what we do.
If all of that sounds exciting and you’re interested, please email our Editor-in-Chief, Jordan Blum, at JordanBlum@thebookendsreview.com by April 30th, 2018 with the subject of “Application for Poetry Editor Position” and a concise introductory paragraph detailing your qualifications. (Of course, you can also include any other materials and information that you think is relevant.)
That’s it! Sound good? We look forward to hearing from you, and as always, thanks so much for your interest in The Bookends Review!
